Doxmart's Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy") is valid for all Doxmart websites within the Doxmart Family (including www.Doxmart.com) and their various sub-domains.
Policy Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Doxmart Limited ("we", "us" or "our") collects, stores, uses and discloses your personal information in connection with the performance of the Doxmart Services available to you through our websites.
When you accept the Doxmart User Agreement when registering for Doxmart account or by using the Site in any way, you expressly consent to the collection, storage, use and disclosure of your personal information by Doxmart Limited as set out in this Privacy Policy.
Validity Date
This Privacy Policy is valid from 1st December 2007 and is effective upon all users.
Collection and Storage of Data and Information
Any person may visit the Doxmart website and peruse the services on offer in anonymity, but if You choose to provide information about yourself You expressly agree that we may store that data confidentially and in a safe and secure environment on servers located in the United Kingdom.
We may collect and store the following personal information about you:
- Contact details such as Your email address, physical addresses, telephone numbers and other types of contact information, and (depending on the services you use) financial information, such as credit card or bank account details;
- Information concerning your activities and transactions on our Site (this may include information on your buying and selling activities, Document descriptions and other content you generate or information concerning your account);
- Correspondence and discussions such as Community discussions, chats, dispute resolution, correspondence through the Site, correspondence sent to us and feedback;

- Third Party information such as supplementary information from third parties (for example: (a) if you incur a debt to us, additional information about you from a credit reference agency, as permitted by law; (b) if the information you provide cannot be verified, we may ask you to send us additional information or to answer additional questions to help verify your information.); (c) if you register to use Doxmart's services on a third party website, or use a third party website providing a service for Doxmart, or use a website that facilitates your activity on Doxmart, that website may supply personal information about you and your transactions to Doxmart.
Marketing by Third Parties
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit, prior consent. However, personal information supplied by you may be aggregated with information from other users and data collected from other companies; this data may be disclosed, in aggregated form, to advertisers and other third parties.
Use of your data by Doxmart
Doxmart collects your data primarily to enable it to provide you with efficient, secure and personalised services.
We may use your personal information to:
- Provide the services and customer support you request;
- Provide the services and customer support you request;
- Resolve disputes and problems and to collect fees;
- Prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and enforce the User Agreement;
- Customise, measure, and improve our services and the Site's content and layout;
- Compare information for accuracy and verify it with third parties.
If you do not wish to receive marketing communications from us, we invite you to make your preference clear by changing your notification preferences in your My Doxmart page at any time. You may not opt out of receiving necessary administration information for us to provide you with the services you request.
Disclosure of Your Information
We may disclose your personal information to:
- Other Doxmart Members and users, whether located within the United Kingdom or abroad. For example, when necessary to complete a transaction;
- Any Doxmart company for the purpose of providing our services or to detect and prevent fraud or other potentially illegal acts;
- Service providers under contract who provide elements of our services, provide separate services that are complimentary to your use of the Site or otherwise help with our business operations (such as fraud investigations, fee collection, affiliate programmes; reward schemes and marketing and promotional activities);
- Other third parties to whom you explicitly consent to our sending your information;
- Police and law enforcement agencies, other governmental agencies or third parties in response to a request for information (such as a Section 29 (3) Data Protection Act 1998 form) relating to a criminal investigation, alleged illegal activity or any other activity that may expose us, you or any other Doxmart user to legal liability. The personal information we disclose may include your User Name and User history, name, address, telephone number, email address, fraud complaints and bidding and listing history or anything else that we deem relevant;
- Other business entities, should we plan to merge with, or be acquired by that business entity. Should such a combination occur, we will require that the new combined entity follow this Privacy Policy with respect to your personal information. If your personal information will be used contrary to this Privacy Policy, you will receive prior notice.
Except when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to prevent illegal activity or harm or damage to persons or property, or when required to by order of the court or similar obligation, we will not otherwise disclose your personal information to others.
Data Controller
Doxmart Limited is the data controller with regard to the processing of your personal information.
Your User Name and Activities on Doxmart
Your User Name is displayed on the Site and is therefore visible to the public. All of your activities on the Site will be traceable to your User Name. Other people may see your feedback ratings, questions you have asked and any comments left on forums or similar. Notices are sent to other Doxmart Members regarding suspicious activity and violations of Rules and Policies on the Site which may make reference to User Names and specific Documents. Therefore, if you associate your name with your User Name, other people will be able to identify your activities on Doxmart.
Cookies
Doxmart uses small files placed on your computer's hard drive (known as "cookies") on certain pages of the Site in order to measure our business, promotions and site performance.
Although you may disable cookies at any time - if your browser allows it - doing so may interfere with the efficient performance of the site.
Passwords and Protection of your Account
Each Member of Doxmart is required to choose a password which, for maximum security, should be made up of a combination of numbers, letters and special characters. Your password should not be shared with anyone. You are responsible for all actions undertaken on the site using your correct password including any fees incurred. If your password security is compromised at any time You must change your password and inform us straight away. Please contact us at any time for advice if needed.
Changing Your Personal Information
You can see all your personal information at any time by going to the My Doxmart section of the website. If you change any of your contact details such as your email address, you must update these details as soon as practical. It may not be possible to remove comments you post on forums, message or bulletin boards.
Closing your Account
We will close your account as soon as practical upon receiving a request from you to do so. We keep data on closed accounts in order to enforce the User Agreement, comply with legal obligations and in order to collect any outstanding monies, resolve disputes, or to prevent fraud or similar activities permitted by law.
Site Security
Doxmart takes all reasonable steps to protect your personal information against unauthorised access including following industry practices such as encryption, passwords and other security measures. Private communications, unfortunately, are always vulnerable to interception and, so, despite its best efforts, Doxmart does not promise, nor should you expect, that your personal information and private communications will always remain private.
Third Parties
Except as otherwise expressly included in this Privacy Policy, this document addresses only the use and disclosure of information we collect from you. Doxmart does not control the use of your data as disclosed to third parties such as Sellers (Uploaders), Buyers (Downloaders) or translators and you are invited to check their privacy practices before disclosing your personal information to them.
Amendments
Doxmart may amend this Privacy Policy at any time by posting the amended terms on the website. Policy terms so amended shall take effect automatically 30 days after they are initially posted on the website. Doxmart will also advise each Member individually of changes to this Privacy Policy by email.
