Licensing Information
On Doxmart when we talk about selling a Document what is meant technically is that you are selling the permission (or License) to use that Document. When you upload a document to Doxmart you should specify a license category that sets out the conditions you would like to make apply to your work and which will govern how others may use your work.
You can choose to apply the default license suggested by Doxmart – this is quite a restrictive license and retains all rights for the copyright holder – or you can use your own form of license. In this case, make sure the license terms are included in your document and select "own license" when asked to once you have uploaded your document.
The default license suggested by Doxmart may not be suitable if you wish to license computer software or documentation; for such material please consider the following alternatives:
Computer Software
In the case of computer software you may wish to look at the licenses made available by the Free Software Foundation or listed at the Open Source Initiative if you are licensing software or software documentation. Unlike Creative Commons licenses - which do not make mention of source or object code - these licenses were designed specifically for use with software.
Creative Commons Licenses
If you are looking for some other license options, you may like to consider those made available freely by Creative Commons.
