Doxmart in assisting you to sell your items creates protected previews of your items, so that your potential customers can see what your item is about. However due to the plethora of file-types that exist; we support building our protected previews for some applications only at this time. This is however constantly increasing and if you have a particular requirement then you can simply Contact Us and we will do our utmost to assist.
Our conversion system is constantly being upgraded to support new types of files, so we invite you to check back regularly.
In order to view the previews on the website optimally you will require Adobe Acrobat Reader and the Adobe Flash Player. You can conveniently download both these applications by clicking on the links below.
Doxmart also provides a low fidelity preview using jpeg images for those users who do not wish to download Adobe Acrobat Reader.

You can be sure that you own the copyright to a document if you have created it
from scratch. You may also own the copyright if you have taken ideas from other
sources but created a document that is based on your own thoughts and information.
If you have any doubt as to your ownership of the document please track back as
to how it was created and if necessary speak to others involved about sharing the
authorship if necessary.
Use the 'Contact Us' function to report a concern, and say why you think the document
should not be listed for sale on Doxmart. Doxmart is committed to ensuring that
the documents listed for sale are owned by the members making the information available
and will deal with any issues of copyright immediately.
For more information, please see the section on
Unacceptable, Prohibited and Restricted items
in our

You can upload and sell any document on Doxmart in the following formats:

In any format, including (but not limited to) .docx, .xlsx, .pptx, .doc, .ppt, .pdf,
xls, txt, jpeg, jpg, tiff, gif, html, txt, rtf, etc
View the full list of supported file types
Two points to remember:
-
You must own the copyright to all the documents you upload.
-
You cannot upload material that is offensive or unlawful. As a Doxmart seller you
are ultimately responsible for making sure that selling your Document(s) is allowed
on Doxmart and is not prohibited by law.
Note: Documents must not contain any viruses, adware, worms or other malicious software
or code. Items with virii or malware will fail to upload.
Note: We suggest that you review Doxmart guidelines, which have been devised to
make sure that only safe trading occurs on the Doxmart sites, as well as Doxmart's
Rules and Policies
to understand what kind of documents may be sold on Doxmart. If you are unsure please
Contact Us
with full details and we will be happy to advise.
It’s very easy to upload a document to the site. Go to your My Doxmart page and
choose the option to 'Upload new document', in the section titled 'Selling'. Be sure to follow the guidance given.
Initially you will be asked to supply just the essential information that is needed
to upload your document.
An error message will let you know if you need to amend any of the information that
you enter about your documents.
Once uploaded you will be taken to a list of your uploaded documents. Your most recently uploaded document
will be at the top of the list. Click on 'Sell' to select and add a hosting package to your basket. Your document will not be
offered for sale on Doxmart until you have added a hosting package to your basket and checked out
Note: You can provide the additional information for your documents at any stage.
Just go to ‘Own-document portfolio’
Tip: Detailed and full information about your documents will increase the chances
of your document being bought. We advise that you provide the additional information
to accompany your documents as soon as possible, either before the document is listed
for sale or as soon as possible after.
You can list your document under up to 3 different categories. It's up to you to
determine the categories, however good practice will be to choose the categories
that most closely reflect the content of your document. Consider who will benefit
most from your document and the categories that members will be likely to look under
for that type of information.
If the content is very specialised and specific to one category it will be appropriate
just to list it under that category only. If you really think there isn't a category
suitable for your document please list it under the 'Other' category and contact
us with your thoughts on what the category should be (go to the Contact Us page
and send us an email) and we will look into it and let you know the outcome.
The summary helps other Doxmart members to decide if the document will be of use
to them. The intention of the summary is to provide a ‘feel’ for the document, to
encourage others to want to look at the document and ultimately to buy it. A good
summary will let potential buyers know:
Tip: A good summary will increase the chances of your document being bought so we
advise that you give enough attention to writing it.
Instructions are likely to make documents more appealing to buyers as they ensure
the user knows how to make best use of the information and documents with instructions
are more likely to receive positive feedback. Doxmart would recommend that if it
is not entirely apparent from your document how and when to use it that instructions
are included. You have the option of including these instructions in the content
of your document itself or providing them as separate information in the appropriate
field on the ‘Upload’ page.
As a rough guideline Doxmart suggests pricing documents at £0.70 per page. However,
this may not be appropriate dependent on the value of the information being made
available. Therefore in determining how to price your documents think about the
following points:
-
How valuable is this information to others?
-
How scarce is this knowledge?
-
How wide an appeal might there be for this document? I.e. How many copies of this
document might I sell?
-
What prices are other members setting for documents of a similar length or content?
Note: You are able to amend the price of your documents once they have been made
available for sale. In doing this you will be able to take into account the feedback
you receive and number of sales.
Whilst your documents are 'pending' they will be listed in 'My Doxmart' within the
'Own-document portfolio'. When you click on 'Own-document portfolio' you will see
a list of your documents that are waiting to be made available for sale. If you
click on the document title the details of your documents will be displayed. At
the bottom of this page there is an 'Edit' button. Clicking on this button will
allow you to make amendments to any of the details held about your document.
You can delete a document listing at any time, by going to 'My Doxmart', select
'Own-document portfolio', then select the appropriate document. Click the 'Delete
Item' link, this will then allow you to permenantly remove the item, or cancel.
Your document will be initially suspended for 90 days, after which it will be removed
from Doxmart. The reason it will be suspended for this period is to enable those
who may have purchased it to have enough time to download it from the site.
Note: If your document is hosted, it will cease to be hosted, and you will NOT receive
a refund on your remaining hosting.
You will have to wait a short time for your document to be hosted whilst the processes
of virus scanning and acceptance are carried out. If it is still not showing after
a short period of time it may that you did not complete the upload process or an
error has occurred.
We would suggest that you ask for advice using ‘Contact Us’ and a Doxmart team member
will let you know if you need to upload the document again or complete the process
if an error has occurred.
To review your sales go to ‘My Doxmart – Finance’ where there will be a record of
your sales. You will be able to see which of your documents are selling well and
which might need adapting to increase sales.
Tip: We suggest that you check your sales on a regular basis so that you can consider
actions you might wish to take to enhance the selling potential of your documents.
You will not be able to cancel the suspension. Your document will have been suspended
whilst Doxmart looks into the allegations. If the allegations are proved unfounded
Doxmart will reinstate your document.
We will endeavour to keep you fully up to date with the investigation into the allegations
and let you know the outcome. Note: For further guidance see
Doxmart Rules and Policies
Your video or audio upload may be taking a while to upload due to its size and the
speed of your internet connection. It is recommended that you use a utility such
as Quicktime Pro to convert your video into an mpeg4 (mp4) file, which will be much
smaller and consequently quicker to upload.
Doxmart Credits are the earnings you receive from selling documents on Doxmart,
and/or, commission from the sales of documents from referred friends
You can ‘cash-out’ your Doxmart Credits or alternatively you can use your credits
to buy other documents, or services provided by Doxmart.
If your Doxmart Credits are from recent sales, you will not be able to cash out
the credits for 72 hours from the time of sale. This is to allow for any refunds
that might be requested during that time.
The total amount shows all of your earnings from selling documents on Doxmart, and/or,
commission from the sales of documents from referred friends.
The available amount shows the credits you can currently use to buy documents/services
or cash out. This amount could potentially be different to the total amount of credits,
as your credits only become available 72 hours after the time of sale.
Please check that your file is a supported format as, although, Doxmart can host any
kind of file previews are available only for the most common types of document and audio/video files.
See supported files here. If your file type is indicated as supported please contact us with the upload reference details and we will attempt to solve the problem as soon as we are able.
All file types may be uploaded to Doxmart and they will be scanned for viruses and malware before being accepted for sale. It is not possible to generate previews for all file types although most of the most common are catered for. This list is being added to all the time. See the full list here:
It’s very easy to find a document on Doxmart. You can:
-
Search using the search box at the top of the page; just enter key words and press go
or enter and you will be presented with a list of documents in order or relevance
-
Browse the document library categories either by using the drop down function on the
Find Documents menu or by clicking on the subject headings in the Browse categories
menu on the right of the page. (Click on a title to see more details by the author).
Go to the 'Tell A Friend' page and complete the details as requested. Doxmart will
automatically email a link to the Doxmart site to your contacts, family, friends
or colleagues who might be interested in joining the Doxmart community. You can
include a personal message to go in this email.
If your friends use this link to register with Doxmart we will know that you have
introduced them. Should any of your referrals load documents to sell, you will automatically
receive 4% commission of the sale price of all their documents which are sold. This
4% commission is taken from the Doxmart share of commission therefore your referrals
will still receive the same profit from their sale of documents.
The more people who know and use Doxmart, the better and more useful the site will
be.
If you know people who can benefit from Doxmart's services, and recommend them to
join Doxmart we will give you a 4% commission on every document they sell through
the site. The more people you refer who provide documents for sale the more potential
there is for you to increase your earnings. There is no limit to the number of friends
you can recommend and, therefore, potentially, to how much you can earn in this
way.
Doxmart charges a small hosting fee for each document. You can set up an initial
hosting period of between 6 and 24 months. Doxmart also takes a commission for each
document that is sold.
Note: You can see the current rates
here.
Doxmart has a goal of offering only high-quality documents on the site. For this
reason it is necessary to ask for a very modest hosting fee which is high enough
to discourage the uploading of documents which are of poor quality and so, unlikely
to be of use to anyone else in the community but at the same time, low enough to
be affordable to members who have something desirable and of real value to offer.
To find out what PayPal is charging you:
From your my Doxmart page click on Transfer earnings from the Finance section and follow the simple instructions to either pay yourself at once or to set up a Payment Schedule that will transfer your money automatically according to the criteria you set. At present you must transfer your money to a PayPal account but coming soon more options will be possible.
If you believe that someone has infringed your copyright please read the information in the copyright infringement policy and follow the steps outlined. Please be aware that false representation could have serious legal consequences for you.
Documents will have been categorised as requested by the seller and also may be
listed with key words relating to the content.
Be as specific as possible when entering your search request. For example; rather
than just searching for ‘business plans’ also add the industry sector for which
you would like a business plan.
Buying a document couldn’t be simpler; once you’ve found the document you want,
just add it to your shopping basket by clicking the “add to basket” button. You
can either check out immediately and pay for the document by credit card or Doxmart
Credits, or you can continue shopping for more high-quality documents and checkout
when ready.
Once your purchase has completed you will be able to download the documents you
have purchased by going to 'My Doxmart' and selecting the 'Documents available for
download' option.
Note: If you have sold documents through Doxmart, you may have Doxmart Credits which
you can use to pay for documents you wish to buy.
Once you’ve made your payment click on the “download now” button and follow the
instructions.
If you don’t want to download your document immediately, that’s okay. The document
will be available for you for 21 days after purchase giving you time to download
it at your convenience.
It is possible that a download can get interrupted usually because of a network
or power failure. It can occasionally happen, also, if your connection is very slow
and/or the document is very big. Don’t be too concerned if you find this happening
as, although it might be frustrating, you have up to 5 attempts to download the
document and, unless there is a serious problem with your hardware or network, it
is very unlikely that they will all be unsuccessful.
If you do find you have used up all your attempts and have not been successful for
whatever reason, please
Contact Us
and we will be pleased to assist you.
Sorry. No. Documents must be downloaded from the site only.
Please check that you have the correct software and software version for opening the file.
If after this you are still unable to open the file, please
Contact Us
with details of the problem, and we will do our best to assist you.
Please
Contact Us
with details of the problem, and we will help you resolve the issue as soon as possible.
This is likely to be due to exchange rate differences. Doxmart bills in GB pounds
and if your credit card is a different currency it may have been debited at a slightly
later date therefore there might be a difference in exchange rates.
Note: These differences in amounts should only be minor so if there is a major difference
in the amount then please
Contact Us.
Also your credit card company may make some charges which we do not know about.
Doxmart does not give refunds for documents that are purchased as the agreement
is between you and the document seller. If you have the contact details of the seller
you can contact them directly with your concerns and possibly request a refund directly
from them.
If you think that the document has been misrepresented by the information provided
by the seller on the Doxmart site then please
Contact Us
and we will investigate and let you know the outcome. The document will be suspended
whilst this is looked into.
You can pay for documents by credit card or by using your PayPal account. Follow the instructions when you check out.
There is no need to store credit card details but the facility to store up to 2 cards is there if you’d like to use it to save you time. You can modify or remove your credit card details at any time and your data is stored safely in full accordance with PCI-DS standards.
A license is a legal document which let’s people who buy your document know what they are allowed to do with it. You don’t have to give a license but it is a good idea to protect your interests as copyright owner and to prevent disputes or misunderstandings.
If you do not want conditions to apply, simply select Custom License and indicate Public Domain or No Rights Reserved.
f you find that none of the licenses are suitable for you, you will need to supply
your own license and select Custom License (or License included with Document and make sure you have the appropraite information in your document prior to upload).
We recommend you seek the advice of a qualified copyright legal specialist in this
case.
You can change the license at any time by editing your document portfolio page but
bear in mind that you may not stop someone, who has obtained your work under a previous
license, from using the work according to that license. So please think carefully
when choosing your license to make sure that you are happy for people to be using
your work consistent with the terms of the license, even if you later stop distributing
your work.
If you want to use a downloaded document in a way that is not permitted under the
terms of the license, you will need to contact the creator and/or licensor and ask
for their permission. If you use a licensed work contrary to the terms of the license,
you could be sued for infringement of copyright.
Business use includes purchases for use in your business or for resale. Consequently,
if you intend to upload documents for sale on a frequent basis you are likely to
be making supplies for business purposes. Personal use implies purchases made for
private and non-business purposes or very occasional sales of documents.
If you are in doubt about your business status you should consult a professional
advisor.
In this case we would suggest that you take out 2 memberships – one for your personal
use activities and the other for business use. That way you will be able to keep
these activities separate from one another.
You can change your status from "personal use" to "business use" and vice versa
at any time by accessing your account and editing your profile on the My Doxmart
page.
As a British company we are required by UK Government Revenue and Customs (HMRC)
regulations to ask the question to ensure that VAT is properly accounted for and
collected. If you are selling or buying for "business use" certain VAT collection
rules apply when your tax status requires it – the rules are complex but only apply
if you are resident in the UK or in the European Union.
A Self Billing Agreement is an arrangement which allows Doxmart to issue invoices
on your behalf for each document you sell as well as for any referral income due
to you from our Tell a Friend affiliate programme. Because we take care of the
administration for you, this means that you can relax once your documents are
uploaded and see your earnings credited to your account automatically. Important
note. It is your responsibility to ensure that you comply with tax, accounting
and trading regulations
When you agree to the Terms and Conditions you agree that Doxmart is going to act
as the principal in the sale of your documents to downloaders. Therefore, for every
document sale Doxmart needs to raise sales invoices to the downloaders of your document.
In addition, so that you receive your income from the document sale, Doxmart has
to raise a self-billing invoice as described in the previous paragraph. It’s an
established accounting procedure to make sure that you can get the earnings that
are due to you. This process means that Doxmart can handle multiple sales easily
and smoothly on your behalf.
To adopt such a procedure we need to know your name, address and VAT status (if
applicable) and there must be a written "Self-Billing Agreement" between supplier
and customer (an agreement can only run for a maximum of 12 months). You will have
received a link to your personal Self-Billing Agreement when you joined Doxmart
or you can access it from your My Doxmart page, at any time. A self-billing invoice
must be raised for all transactions and the Doxmart system has been designed to
comply fully with these requirements.
See specimen self-billing agreement
You can cancel your SBA at any time, however, if you do it will mean that you will
not be able to sell documents on Doxmart as we will not be in a position to comply
with the requirements stated above.
For VAT purposes e-books are not classified as books therefore VAT is payable.
Doxmart's system is currently designed to handle one VAT number per Member. If you
have more than one VAT number, we suggest that you take out a separate membership
in the name of each VAT registered entity and, that way, you can keep the trading
activities of each company separate.
Simply go to ‘Contact Us’ page and give the information required on the form provided
to let us know about your concern. We will reply to your email with an initial response
within 48 hours.
Doxmart sellers agree to comply with all applicable domestic and international laws,
statutes, ordinances and regulations regarding their listings and the sale of their
items.
It is the uploaders’ responsibility to ensure they comply with the trading, accounting
and tax regulations of their own country.
Doxmart’s software is fully automated and all views, sales and downloads are updated
in real time. You can verify this yourself at anytime by viewing and/or purchasing
your own document. Additionally, all Doxmart processes are subject to independent
verification by our auditors and any manipulation or attempt at manipulation of
data is recorded and can and will be tracked.
Doxmart’s interest is in having the full trust of its members and the public as
we believe that this is the only way we can make Doxmart the pre-eminent document
selling community on the internet, and so we freely offer our unreserved guarantee
of total transparency in dealings with our members and the community in general.
To know more about Doxmart’s ethical position may we also invite you to look at
The Doxmart Charter.
Basic Membership is free upon registration to the Doxmart site. Gold Membership
is available for a small fee and offers numerous
benefits. Any Basic account can be upgraded to a Gold account at any
time by visiting My Doxmart and clicking ‘Upgrade my account’.
The key difference is that Gold membership gives you the benefit of a reduced hosting
fee for your documents and you pay Doxmart a smaller commission.
Note: As Doxmart develops and enhanced services are added Gold members will benefit
from reduced fees for any services that have a cost attached.
You can cancel your membership at anytime although we hope that you don’t.
-
To cancel your membership go to ‘Contact us‘. Please state that you wish to cancel
your membership. It will help us improve our services to members if you also give
your reasons for cancelling your membership.
-
You will receive an email to confirm that your membership has been cancelled.
-
Any hosted documents will be suspended for 90 days days to enable those who may
have purchased it to have time to download it from the site. Following this period
of suspension your documents will be removed from the site.
Notes:
-
For detailed information please see
Doxmart's Rules and Policies
about closing your account.
-
Once an account has been closed it cannot be re-opened.
-
A member of the Doxmart team may contact you by email or phone to ask for more details
about your reasons for cancelling your membership. We do this to help us look at
how we might enhance our membership services.
If you choose to cancel your Doxmart membership there are no refunds on hosting
or membership fees.
Note: You must ensure there are no balances remaining in your account in order to
proceed with closure.
For a modest fee Doxmart will issue you with a uniquely numbered Certificate of Uploading attesting to the date that your document was uploaded by you to the site along with a copy of the document that you uploaded to Doxmart. Such, objective proof of the date at which a document existed and its condition and content can be extremely helpful to proving copyright in the event of a dispute as to authorship arising and save you time, legal costs and, most importantly, anxiety.
Once you’ve uploaded the document you want to sell, select a hosting period, proceed to checkout, then tick the box labelled “Document Protection” (or, make sure it’s unchecked if you don’t want the protection)! The fee will then be added to your basket and you can check out in the regular way. Once your payment has been received you will be able to download your Certificate of Uploading.
You can add Document Protection to any new or existing document from your My Document Portfolio page simply by clicking the ‘Buy Document Protection’ link next to your document – this action adds the service to your shopping basket. You must then check out in the regular way. Once your payment has been received you will be able to download your Certificate of Uploading. See ‘Accessing my certificate’ below for instructions on how to download your certificate.
Document protection costs only £0.35 if you buy it at the time you upload and host your documents. If you add it later it will cost £0.49 which is a bit more because of the extra costs we incur in processing the transaction.
You will be able to access and download the Certificate of Uploading at anytime from your My Document Portfolio page by clicking on ‘download Certificate of Uploading’ as long as the document is hosted for sale on the site or for up to six months after cancellation or non-renewal of the document. We recommend that you download the ‘Certificate of Uploading’ as soon as possible after purchase and keep it in a safe place.
Doxmart will provide you with certification of the date your document was uploaded together with a copy of your document in the condition it was when it was uploaded.
Important note: Doxmart does not guarantee in any way that you will be successful in the event of a dispute because of the complexity and diversity of world jurisdictions and the fact that the courts take many aspects into consideration when evaluating copyright infringement questions and no warranty is intended or implied. You are advised to seek independent legal advice from a qualified practitioner.
