About the unit This unit will help in the planning and delivery of a lesson. It includes a lesson plan and a blank to aid you in developing your own lessons. Who is it suitable for? It is meant for the inexperienced and /or untrained teacher who has few resources except his/her voice and easily found materials e.g. pictures from magazines. It is suitable for teachers of students who are beginning to learn English. Who is it not suitable for? It is not meant for highly qualified or experienced teachers of English. It is not recommended for those teaching in a well-resourced school or college where audio visual aids are in abundance. It is not intended for those teaching advanced learners although the basic principles apply in any language teaching situation. What can a teacher learn from this unit? The inexperienced teacher will acquire the basic skills to develop and deliver an English lesson. They should also be aware of any areas they are omitting or not giving enough emphasis to.
